This country spends X each year; it does not want to pay the bill for spending X; this country borrows/prints the difference. We should be paying our bills from tax revenues we collect. But, the tax code in this country favors (wildly) those who make money from the purchase and sale of assets compared to those who EARN money from wages and salaries. The sham is that those with assets say that they "need" the favored tax treatment to justify their risks. BS. No one with a brain invests on the basis of tax treatment (except for the purchase of fixed income assets like bonds which have never been a good (i.e., appreciating) investment). If we treated all income the same, we could pay our bills. It's not that complicated.
