The Peter G. Peterson Foundation argues that (i) eliminating the cap on payroll taxes would generate an additional $320 billion per year; and (ii) raising the corporate tax rate to 28% would raise $100 billion per year. Couple these increases with health care reform and we can deal with the deficit. It's not brain surgery; it just requires political courage.
