Our Gen Z'er operates under a false assumption: that it is the employer's obligation to create an ideal work environment for her. That simply is not the case. Assuming the absence of contracts or labor agreements, the employer has absolutely no obligation to address her concerns. The real question is whether and to what extent is it worth something to the Company to address them?

Our Gen Z'er also ignored her own power. She could have been searching for a better job from the moment that she started this one. With an offer in hand with ideally a better situation, she could have tried to negotiate changes with her current employer. That being said, given her comments, she would never have been happy in her current job because the changes that she was seeking are adverse to the best interests of the employer.

I wish her the best of luck; she will need it.
