Does Mr. Greenblatt's methodology (net of taxess and fees) consistently beat a Vanguard S&P 500 Index fund (net of taxes and fees) on a cumulative basis over 20+ years? After all, why bother with it if it can't consistently beat an investment that is easy to make, cheap to own and tax efficient.
