BTC solves a problem: the unavailability of banking services for 4+ billion people. Over time, a banking system based on BTC will emerge to serve those people. When the BTC banking system gets to a sufficient size to challenge and compete with the existing banking system, we can expect the existing system (and the governments that support them) to fight back tooth and nail.
